Without a license key, Lode Items runs as the free version: everything works, but it loads only a limited amount of some kinds of content. A license unlocks everything. The plugin never switches itself off for want of a key.

What happens past the limit

  • Content is counted in load order: files sorted by their path, entries from top to bottom. The first 20 items load, the 21st and later don’t.
  • Everything held back is listed in the console after every load, with its file and line. Staff (players with lodeitems.command) are told when they join.
  • Recipes and trees that need something held back are skipped and listed too, instead of being reported as errors.
  • events: on items, blocks and props are read, so mistakes in them are still reported, but they don’t run.
  • Music discs over the sound limit stay registered, but play no sound until a license is activated.

Activating a license

The key is checked, and on success Lode Items reloads, so everything held back loads straight away. The key is kept in plugins/LodeItems/mclicense.txt, so it’s checked again at every start. /lodeitems license shows which edition is running.
If the key can’t be checked when the server starts (a wrong key, or no internet connection), Lode Items runs as the free version until it can.
