# Flora

> Grass, flowers and crops as elements.

Flora will be the [element](https://items.lodemc.net/elements.md) type for plants: grass, flowers, bushes and crops. It uses the same system as [props](https://items.lodemc.net/furniture.md) (a model next to its YAML, placed in the world) with mechanics of its own for plants.

Unlike props, flora won't show the placement hologram by default.

Until it arrives, props can already do simple plants: `grows:` turns one prop into the next stage over time, and `on:` limits where it can be planted. See [Growing plants](https://items.lodemc.net/furniture.md#growing-plants).
